Versa Creative Group, founded by Mary Shekari, visited the Houston Food Bank to pack bags with nutritious snacks for low-income children to take home over the weekend.
Based out of the Portwall location, the food bank’s Backpack Buddy program discreetly provides non-perishable, vitamin-fortified food to children in participating schools. Versa’s team members participated in the event, organizing and packing meals to help area children in need. Team members included Design Director Daniela Valbuena-Rains, Director of Business Development Velina Kara, Digital Account Manager Eric Hyde, Paid Search Analyst Herbert Murcia, and SEO Specialist Shashitha Francis. With Versa’s help, the entire group of volunteers was able to pack close to 20,000 meals, exceeding the daily goal and leaving them with nothing to pack at the end. “We feel that helping our community is a great way to fully embody our company’s purpose, which involves us being great partners with each other, with our clients, and with the community,” Versa Founder Mary Shekari said.
Versa Creative Group enjoyed their volunteer experience and plan to do several more events in the future.
